Abstract
Using an ultrasonic lithotrite and a nephroscope especially developed for the percutaneous disintegration and removal of kidney stones via a nephrostomy 16 of 19 patients were successfully treated without open surgery. As the nephrostomy is established by percutaneous puncture, general anesthesia is not required. The method is particularly advantageous in poor risk patients and for the treatment of recurrent calculi which would otherwise require extensive renal dissection. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
