Abstract
This paper introduces the concept of ‘ecological engineering’, which is based on two fundamental functions that play leading roles in the dynamic processes of ecosystems. These functions are maintaining ‘the general eco-balance resulting from the harmonization of well-coordinated structures with functions in the ecosystems’, and the transformation and regeneration ‘of substances based on the multi-layer trophic structures’ that are common to most ecosystems. Keywords
