Abstract
The system MgO‐ZnO‐Sio2 was studied by the quenching technique. No ternary compounds were found in the system, but extensive solid solution relations occurred in the magnesiumand zinc‐bearing compounds. Two ternary eutectics and one reaction point were located; the minimum melting point in the system was 1370°± 5°C at a composition of 15.5 wt% MgO, 37.0 wt% ZnO, and 47.5 wt% SiO2.Keywords
