Abstract
We define the "matter form factor" (MFF) in hadron-hadron elastic scattering as the Fourier-Bessel transform of the eikonal. The MFF's for and are extracted directly from the measured differential cross sections. We show that the valon model is a convenient framework in which these form factors can be analyzed and related to each other.
