Abstract
The disappearance of lactose from the gastro-intestinal tract of the rat was greater after previous feeding for 6 weeks of a diet containing 25% of lactose than after similar feeding of a complete diet containing no lactose. The mean "absorption" coeffs. ([plus or minus] the standard error of the mean) were 88 [plus or minus] 12 and 57[plus or minus]6 mg./100 g./hr., for the 25% lactose-fed and the non-lactose-fed groups, respectively. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
