Abstract
Potential bias in evaluation of single traits resulting from selection on a correlated trait is considered. Examples of potential bias use simulated data for sequential selection and for a trait showing a correlated response. In both cases, single trait evaluation for the correlated trait does not consider the data on which selection decisions were made. The use of methodology for evaluation of multiple traits to reduce or eliminate bias from selection on correlated traits is demon- strated. Keywords
