Foliar Absorption and Translocation of P32and 2,4- Dichlorophenoxyacetic Acid as Affected by Soil-Moisture Tension

Abstract
1. Autoradiograms indicate a marked decrease in movement of 2,4-D and P32 throughout red kidneybean plants at higher moisture tensions. 2. More P32 was absorbed and about eight times as much translocated below 1/3-atm. as compared with near 3-atm. tension. 3. No effect of soil-moisture stress was found on the absorption of 2,4-D. Approximately twice as much 2,4-D was translocated at 1/3-atm. as compared with 4-atm. tension.
