Abstract
Specimens made of H17 steel were used to correlate the parameters characterizing OSEE due to plastic deformations with the concentration of defects generated in the samples by deformations. The assumption that for H17 steel, the α-Fe phase is the decisive one from the point of view of the observed electron emission and X-ray characteristics, made possible a determination of the concentration of vacancies as well as surface dislocation concentrations versus the temperature (T 0) of the initial annealing of a specimen. The parameter of the plastic property ε f and the concentration of defects show very clear changes over the same range of temperatures T 0. The transport mechanism of vacancies facilitated by dislocation movements is obligatory only within a temperature range from 293 to 873 K. On the basis of experimental data an exoemissive criterion regarding the yield point for metals is suggested. Keywords
