Abstract
A compact device for automatically aligning a particle sampler into the wind is described. The instrument is power-operated, from self-contained batteries, and works reliably under field conditions. Although designed primarily for use with Millipore filter samplers, the mechanism could easily be adapted for use with other samplers. Most components of the device could be produced cheaply, using plastic moulding techniques.
