Abstract
The coiled testes are usually bilaterally but asymmetrically located in the 2d to 5th abdominal segments; exact extent and position may vary with age and nutritive condition (especially as reflected in the size of the crop). Normally only small portions of the testes are close to the body surface; artificial depression of the abdomen tends to arrange them more favorably for ventral irradiation with poorly penetrating rays.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
