Abstract
The occurrence of plasma-cell proliferation in the spleen of irradiated rats was re-investigated. The results are discussed on the basis that in an irradiated organism the antibody-producing cells could undergo mutation in such a way as to be stimulated antigenetically by the constituents of the body. Therefrom one arrives at a concept that in irradiation sickness auto-immune processes can also occur. Keywords
