Abstract
Frith, H. J. 1972. Nesting of the Black-banded Pigeon and the Australian rock pigeons. Emu 72: 13–16. The nest and egg of the Black-banded Pigeon Ptilinopus cinctus alligator and those of the Chestnut-quilled Rock Pigeon Petrophassa rufipennis are described for the first time. The first description of the juvenile plumage of the Black-banded Pigeon is provided. Two nests of the White-quilled Rock Pigeon P. albipennis are also described, because authenticated nests of this species are not commonly reported. The breeding habitat of the three species is described.Keywords
