Abstract
Following an account of some improved methods for handling the somatic chromosomes of conifers. the karyotypes of representative species of Tetraclinis. Actinostrobus, Callitris, and Fitzroya are illustrated and described. Surprisingly. Fitzroya cupressoides is a polyploid (2n = 4x = 44) and therefore a ranty m the gymnosperms. Keywords
