Abstract
This article reviews the historical development of the AGR (advanced gas-cooled reactor) in Scotland from its inception to its current successfully established position. It examines where the AGRs will go in the future and concludes with the strategic role of the existing and new plant in the market-led electricity supply industry.Keywords
