Abstract
The fabrication of new thin film photosystems has led to the study of optical characteristics of photodecomposition in metal–dielectric mixtures (cermets) of Cu–PbI2. We report in this paper experimental results obtained for cermets of low volume concentration in copper. The photometric variations associated with those of optical constants induced by the photodecomposition of cermet are discussed and analyzed with respect to a possible optimization of their photographic properties. We also propose a new photosystem of optimum contrast that comprises a thin film of copper overcoated with a thin film cermet, both thickness being adjusted so that the whole system is antireflecting at λ = 632.8 nm.Keywords
