Abstract
A formula is derived for the viscous and dielectric friction on a steadily rotating spherical dipole for the case of an arbitrary ’’slipping coefficient’’. In the perfect slip limit, I recover the Nee–Zwanzig formula for dielectric friction at zero frequency, given that a simple Debye dispersion describes the dielectric response of the medium. Keywords
