Abstract
Relaxation half-times have been measured in the bistable iodate-arsenous acid reaction near a hysteresis limit and the critical point. A one-variable empirical rate law model is used to examine the apparent divergence in the relaxation times at these points. Relaxation behavior very close to, and exactly at the critical point and hysteresis limits is considered. Keywords
