Abstract
Interest scales for the Strong Vocational Interest Blank (SVIB) were recently developed to measure six cognitive styles proposed by Holland: realistic, investigative, artistic, social, enterprising, and conventional. SVIB's for entering male freshmen were available at Dartmouth College, for freshman arts and engineering males at the University of Minnesota, and for freshman males and females at Macalester College. Mean scores indicate that there are sex differences, institutional differences, and differences across entering classes. Keywords
