Abstract
Additions of chlorobutanol at the rate of 5 gm. daily in the ration of a rumen fistula heifer did not impair the rumen synthesis of thiamine, riboflavin, niacin and pantothenic acid. This drug sustained increased concs. of blood plasma ascorbic acid for the 160 days during which it was fed. With the discontinuance, of the drug the blood plasma ascorbic acid dropped sharply and below normal, requiring approx. 1 month to regain normal concs. A subsequent 3-week feeding period of the drug was not accompanied by the sub-normal drop. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
