Abstract
An investigation into sudden death in infancy is described, which demonstrates the feasibility and value of using NHS personnel for interviewing bereaved parents in cases of sudden death in infancy both for the support and reassurance it provides for the parents and for the assistance it gives the Community Services in planning future provision of services in the areas concerned. Preliminary data are presented on the comparative pattern of sudden infant death in metropolitan and non-urban areas. Keywords
