Abstract
The frequency dependence of the a.c. susceptibility of an iron whisker is analyzed in the region of nonlinear behavior within 20 millidegrees of T. A phenomenological equation of the form φ=φf⋅f0 ln(1+f/f) fits the data for the frequency dependence of the phase. The parameter φf reaches a peak and f0 becomes a minumum near or at Tc. The characteristic frequency f may be related to critical slowing down reaching the millisecond region.
