Quark effects in the charge distribution ofPb208

Abstract
In a previous work we showed that the use of medium-modified electromagnetic form factors of the nucleon, obtained from our theory of covariant soliton dynamics, led to a significant improvement in the agreement between theory and experiment for the charge density of Pb208. Here we show that the addition of corrections to the charge density obtained in the random-phase approximation leads to a further improvement when comparing the theoretical predictions and the charge distributions extracted from the experimental data.
