Abstract
Inebriation significantly decreased the coping behavior of alcoholics as measured by a Sentence Completion Test. Normals showed the opposite pattern of change. It was inferred that alcohol therefore acts to release behaviors which are latent and interdicted in the sober state for both groups. Suggestions fox future research are made. Keywords
