Abstract
The high residue phosphorus content of spores of 2 strains was correlated with the presence of a dense outer spore coat by electronmicroscopy. A low spore-residue phosphorus strain had a single spore coat. The heavy outer coats were constructed in 2 halves like a walnut hull. The presence or absence of an outer coat altered the staining reactions of these resting spores. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
