Abstract
Using the glia-index (number of glia cells per nerve cell) in the cortex of the horse, cow, pig, rabbit, mouse, hen and frog the phylogenetic higher evolution of the cortex may be indicated by an increase of glia. The glia is important for metabolism of the nervous tissue. Keywords
