Abstract
Total Synthesis of (±)‐Bonellin Dimethyl EsterBonellin (1) is the green sex‐differentiating pigment ofBonellia viridis, a marine animal widely distributed in the Mediterranean Sea. Bonellin dimethyl ester (rac‐2), has been synthesized from the four monocyclic building blocks6, 7, 8b, 10and the selectively cleavable malonic ester9by an highly convergent synthetic concept. Keywords
