Abstract
Optical gain and spontaneous spectra of multi-quantum-well (MQW) lasers are investigated theoretically. A band-to-band radiative recombination rate is calculated using an energy-dependent density of states and k-selection rule. It is found that the gain and spontaneous spectra are significantly dependent upon degrees of two-dimensionality of subbands created in MQW structure. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
