Abstract
The incremental polarizability which occurs when two hydrogen molecules interact has been calculated by the ab initio SCF method using a [3s, 2p] gaussian basis set. Results are reported for various separations and orientations. Where symmetry allows, the polarizabilities are compared with those of the helium diatom. The general shapes of the curves are similar, though they differ in detail. Keywords
