Uric acid excretion by midgut epithelium in Gilpinia hercyniae (Htg.)

Abstract
Experimental and histological evidence suggest that uric acid is excreted by the midgut epithelium in the diprionid sawfly, Gilpinia hercyniae (Htg.), and that this function resides in specialized accessory structures, the gastric crypts.
