Abstract
Renal function was evaluated in 35 cases of Down''s syndrome and 35 other retardates using 2-hr, clearance studies. The clearances of creatinine and uric acid were significantly reduced in Down''s syndrome. Urea clearance also tended to be lower. These results indicate that the increased blood levels of urea, uric acid, and creatinine observed in Down''s syndrome may be due to reduced renal excretion of these metabolites. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
