Abstract
Measurements of the optical absorption in the compound semiconductor CsAu are presented for the solid and liquid states. Between 25 and 590°C a shift of the absorption edge from 2.52 to 2.1 eV is found : on melting (at 590°C) a jump by 0.8 eV occurs. The construction of a special optical cell, which allows measurements on very thin liquid films is briefly described. Keywords
