Abstract
Pheromone-stimulated males of Heliothis zea (Boddie) were observed in a wind tunnel to determine the importance of vision as a supplementary detection method to locate calling H. zea female moths. The visual stimuli used in this study were a dead male H. zea moth and a mock female moth constructed of heavy brown paper. Data indicated that males use vision as a supplementary detection method when near a pheromone release site. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
