Abstract
Endometria were dated according to the morphological characteristics described by Hertig. A "normal" curve was depicted for the concentration of endometrial glycogen during the menstrual cycle. Maximum concentration was noted on day 17 and day 27 of the normal cycle and the lowest concentration in the secretory phase was noted at the time of maximum secretion. The concentration of glycogen in specimens obtained from women approaching menopause and from women with menstrual irregularities was compared to the normal curve. There was no evidence to substantiate claims of others that glycopenia uteri was a pathological entity. Keywords
