Brief Communication: Accelerated Development of Benzo [ a ] pyrene-Induced Skin Tumors in Mice Treated With Pyran Copolymer 2

Abstract
Chronic treatment of C3H mice with pyran, a copolymer of maleic anhydride and divinyl ether, markedly accelerated the induction of skin tumors by benzo[a]pyrene. Thirty weeks after the initiation of pyran and carcinogen treatment, 85% of the animals had developed skin tumors; at the same time, tumor incidence in control mice was only 24%.
