Abstract
Five years of research on the similiarities and differences between Hispanics and nonHispanics in the U.S. are summarized, with a focus on both theoretical issues (e.g., what is culture) and methodological issues (how can it be measured most adequately). The report identifies numerous cultural differences and relates them to the previous literature. It then discusses the implications of these differences for the recruitment, training, and retention of Hispanics in the Navy.
