Brief Communication: Normal Human Mammary Cells in Culture: Evidence for OncornavirusMLike Particles2

Abstract
Normal human mammary epithelial cells were cultivated from postnursing fluids. The cells were grown in medium containing autologous serum. These cells incorporated 3H-uridine into a particle which appeared in the culture supernatant and which had a density of 1.16–1.19 g/cc. Both the cells and the supernatants showed 70S RNA and reverse transcriptase activity, as determined by the simultaneous detection test.
