Abstract
Results of an ultrasonic measurement survey in which nine groups made compressional wave transit time measurements on a given sample of fused silica are presented. Seven of the nine reports agreed within 0.3%, and it is suggested that discrepancies in published values of elastic constants of a given material may be due to variations in the samples themselves. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
