Use of a Classical Rotation Operator in Quantum Mechanics

Abstract
A classical operator exp(α x), for the rotation of a vector about an angle α, is presented. Some properties are derived and its usefulness is illustrated in a quantum-mechanical calculation. The operator easily dispenses from specifying coordinates in three dimensional configurations, extending in this way the usefulness of rotors and cross products.Keywords
