Abstract
Altoside, a glycoside of the bufadienolide type was isolated in a pure crystalline form from Urginea altissima Baker. By means of fermentative hydrolysis it could be split in scilliglaucosidine and D–glucose. Hence altoside and scilliglaucoside seem to be isomers. Keywords
