Abstract
A boy with galactosemia and bilateral cataract developed large intraocular hemorrhages in the left eye which was enucleated. A persistent hyaloid artery was demonstrated histologically. This combination with galactosemia may be the first described. The hemorrhages were probably secondary to the persistant hyaloid artery system. Some foci of extramedullary hemopoiesis were demonstrated in the retina. Keywords
