Abstract
A solution to the steady‐state, two‐dimensional Boltzmann equation is obtained for the flux due to a point source of neutrons located in a system of two adjacent half‐spaces having the same mean‐free path. Isotropic scattering and monoenergetic neutrons are assumed. The solution for an arbitrary source location is related to that for an interface source which is obtained by the Wiener‐Hopf technique. Asymptotic expansions for the flux far from the source, both along and away from the interface, are derived and compared with approximate theory. Keywords
