Abstract
Cerium Sulfate octohydrate crystals were crystallized from aqueous solutions under controlled conditions. The solubility measurements were carried out on temperatures between 10 and 80°. Thermoanalytical methods were applied for the study of the thermal behaviour of this compound. Raman spectra of polycrystalline Ce2(SO4)3 · 8H2O and Ce2(SO4)3 · 8D2O recorded at 80 K are reported. The vibrational modes have been assigned by comparing the spectrum of both compounds and using structural considerations. Keywords
