Double-Discharge TEA Laser Beams

Abstract
The energy and power density distributions of a multi-transverse-mode laser beam are predicted from a simple theoretical model. The corresponding experimental verifications show a good agreement for both the near- and far-field behavior of these beams. Finally, a method for optimizing the peak power density in the focal volume of a converging element is suggested.
