Abstract
Using the DSC technique it is possible to evaluate the efficiency of antioxidants in rubber, using the increase in Ti of the rubber on adding antioxidant in a known concentration. The creosote bush resin chloroform extract is more efficient in synthetic than natural rubbers. The increase in Ea can be explained by the formation of peroxy-quinolinic intermediates in the slow stage of the reaction and it is possible to calculate the Ea based on this same increase, when the relationships between the reaction and Ti, and between Ea/N calculated by Gorbachev and Ti, are known. These are given for Hr=10°K/min using Equations (7) to (11), which greatly simplifies calculations and reduces experimental tests. Keywords
