An Investigation of the Klein-Nishina Formula for X-Ray Scattering, in the Wave-Length Region 50 to 20 X-Units

Abstract
An x-ray tube and a spectrograph were used to produce monochromatic beams of wave-length from 50 to 20 x-units. The absorption coefficient per electron for each beam was measured in carbon and aluminum. Results indicate it is unlikely that the Klein-Nishina formula for the scattering coefficient per electron is in error by more than one percent in this region of wave-lengths.
