Abstract
Patients (100) with geographic tongue were studied for evidence of association with atopy. There was a significantly high frequency of personal and/or family history of asthma, eczema and hay fever among patients when compared to a control population. A raised total serum Ig[immunoglobulin]E (.gtoreq. 200 u/ml) was significantly more frequent in patients compared to a control population. In some patients geographic tongue may be a sign of atopy. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
