Abstract
The times required for moderation of keV electrons in gaseous helium and hydrogen to terminal energies in the range of 0.1 to 1 eV are calculated. Data used in the calculation include the subexcitation electron energy distributions and the stopping cross sections. The calculated terminal times are compared with the theoretical results of Mozumder and with results extracted from the experimental data of Warman and Suer. Keywords
