Abstract
The infrared and Raman spectra of CCl3CN have been obtained. The observed frequencies were assigned to the fundamental modes of vibration and their combinations. A normal coordinate treatment of the vibrations has been carried out, using a simple valency force field, supplemented with additional terms representing the interactions between the various nonbonded atoms in the molecule. Keywords
