Abstract
The Thomas peak, which dominates the electron-capture cross section in the high-velocity limit, has the mathematical form of a simple resonance. However, this resonance occurs as a function of the momentum transfer (rather than energy), corresponding to a negative shift in the impact parameter (rather than time). Keywords
