Abstract
Recent studies show that successful relativistic mean-field models of nuclei are consistent with naive dimensional analysis and naturalness, as expected in low-energy effective field theories of quantum chromodynamics. The nonrelativistic Skyrme energy functional is found to have similar characteristics.Keywords
